If you’re planning to stay overnight or for a few days in Tagaytay, Hotel Kimberly is a great choice, especially for your kids. Let me illustrate the things they would enjoy at this new hotel discovery, using photos from our last Oreo Halloween Better Together event (where N came as Olaf):
1. Fun at the huge playground
They have this huge playground for little kids with big slides and bridges. That’s at least 1 hour off the itinerary (if you can get them to come down)! Big kids (or even office teams) can play in obstacle course set up beside the play area.
Here’s our group at the playground where we had our crazy Oreo games.
2. Checking out the animals at the mini farm/ zoo
Behind the hotel, there’s a huge grassy area and to the side you may find various farm animals — rabbits, an owl (!), turkeys, ducks, chickens, pot-bellied pigs, peacocks and lots of sheep.
Here’s ManilaMommy in her Princess Leia costume calling to her flock. They think her ears are horns.
3. Cartwheeling, running and watching stars in wide open spaces.
Hotel Kimberly has wide open spaces where we did our trick or treating. You can hold lots of events here or just cartwheel to your heart’s content. At night, you can explore the area and watch the stars, which our kdis hardly see in the city. Remember to bring a sweater because it can get cold at night.
The kids will see their pools and will want to jump right in. Never mind that it is freezing!! I gave in but gave up after 30 minutes. I suggested they get a heated pool but for sure that will be very expensive. The kids like having their lips turn blue anyway!
5. Indoor fun in the game room
There’s a game and fitness room inside the hotel with foosball, air hockey, ping pong and billards tables. They can also play video games while adults use the fitness machines. The small kids have Little Tikes toys they can use if it’s raining outside (or they’ve taken a bath already and you just want to tire them out).
In the game room, we had our main Halloween program where we set up our overly amazing dessert buffet filled with Oreo treats made by MommanManila.
The kids (and adults!) loved our stay there at our Halloween event that when we had a wedding to go to last month, we opted to stay there again because we knew they wouldn’t get bored at all.
The kids enjoyed so much that it was the only hotel stay they’ve had where the TV was not turned on at all inside the room.
One last thing, the hotel’s location is just off Mahogany avenue. It’s very near the rotunda and just past the Starbucks and Pancake House on the ridge. It’s far from the traffic zone near the palengke and the other restos. It took us less than an hour from Shell SLEX.
