We hardly watch TV anymore so a few months ago, we downgraded our Sky Cable subscription from Silver to the very basic plan worth P280. Of course, we had to add 2 channels: 1 was ANC so we could catch up with the news and because my husband produces Green Living TV, the other was Disney Junior where our TV is probably tuned to half of the time.
M, now 5 years old, for some reason shifted from Nick Jr. to Disney Jr.. Coincidentally, it came with the brand re-launch of Disney Jr. from Playhouse Disney. I have no idea why. Within Disney Jr., she tends to generally like all the shows but I have my own favorites. These are:
- Word World
- Jake and the Neverland Pirates
- Higglytown Heroes
- Handy Manny
- Imagination Movers
- Mickey Mouse Clubhouse
- The Cat in the Hat

I have my UNfavorites especially those that give me LSS – like Dibo and Oso (haha, let’s not tell M).
Today, 9th July, (M likes saying 9th July because that’s what she hears on TV) a new show is launching about a little girl who is the doctor to her broken toys. It’s called Doc McStuffins. It looks really nice and the soundtrack doesn’t give me LSS. Plus Lambie is really cute. (If the YouTube link doesn’t show the video below, just click the link.)
Doc McStuffins premieres today, July 9, 9:30AM with a replay at 1:15 and 8PM (good thing because M wanted to skip school to watch the premiere!). Toy Story 3 is also doing a TV premiere at 10AM. Below is a schedule I took from the Disney Junior Asia Facebook page. (All show photos above also taken from the same Facebook page.)
Disney Junior is on Channel 38 on Sky Cable and costs an additional P100 monthly for subscription.

Oh my goodness! Only premiering there now? Sam enjoys Doc McStuffins! We need to find a way to tape these shows!
Yes, just this week. It’s cute
Hi OC Mommy! May I know at what age did your baby/ies start watching TV? I am so tempted to let my son watch TV, yet our pedia said we shouldn’t until he’s 3 years old.
Thank you!
Oh gosh, don’t make me an example. My husband is a TV producer and I’m in advertising so we consume a lot of media as a family and our kids do so too. For our first though, we only made her watch TV starting 11 months old. The 2nd though probably started at 6 months because her ate will not stop for her. We start them off with shows with real people in them – like Signing Time or Brainy Baby. That way, there is less overstimulation
